SURA Peru and IOM execute an agreement against human trafficking

SURA Peru​, part ofSURA Asset Management​ under Grupo SURA, and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) signed an interinstitutional cooperation agreement to design and take joint actions to prevent human trafficking. ​Jorge Ramos, Executive President of SURA Asset Management, and José Iván Dávalos, Head of the IOM Mission, executed this agreement. Both institutions will continue working together with the prevention initiative Un teatro contra la trata (one theater against human trafficking), which shall mount the play "The Nightmare of Lita" staged by the cast of SURA Peru pensioners. The objective of this activity is to raise awareness of this crime among more than 3 thousand students from 14 schools in Lima Metropolitana. On the other side, IOM will implement workshops, where students can create theater plays about this topic, under the supervision of artists and teachers. It is worth mentioning that between 2009 and 2014, the Public Prosecutor's Office of Peru detected 3,911 victims of human trafficking: 79,6% women, 56,5% minors, and 86,2% of Peruvian nationality.  ​  SURA PERU SURA Peru assists over 2 million clients and manages assets of over USD 16,000 MM.
