Resignation of Legal Representative

​ The Board of Directors meeting held today of Grupo de Inversiones Suramericana S.A. –Grupo SURA-  witnessed the formalized resignation of Mr. Fernando Ojalvo Prieto, the Company's Vice President of Corporate Affairs and Secretary General – effective as of April 30th.   After accepting his resignation, Grupo SURA publicly states its admiration and special thanks for more than 29 years of work at this Company as well as its affiliates and subsidiaries, where he stood out for guiding the organization towards the highest standards of corporate governance, human talent management, corporate responsibility, ethical commitment and social investment.   Fernando Ojalvo has been pivotal for the projection of the corporate group and is particularly valued for his kindness, discipline, willingness to serve, sensitivity and commitment to social development and cultural enhancement in Colombia and Latin America.   At Grupo Empresarial SURA, Fernando acted as the Manager of the Investment Fund of Suramericana, the Legal Manager, the Administrative Vice President and the Secretary General of Suramericana S.A. and its affiliates. Since 2013, he acted as the Vice President of Corporate Affairs and Secretary General of Grupo SURA. In addition, he was a member of the business structuring process of EPS SURA, ARL SURA and Protección S.A; and of the spin-off process of the investments business of the insurance company, which gave birth to today's holding: Grupo SURA. Moreover, he participated in different processes which have led to the Group's expansion in the region.     In the business setting, Fernando has chaired the boards of Protección, Sodexo Colombia and Caja de Compensación Familiar de Antioquia - COMFAMA, and is a member of the directors of SURA Asset Management Chile and AFORE SURA México. In addition, he is a member of the directive councils of Uniminuto, Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey Capítulo Colombia, Dividendo por Colombia, Corporación Antioquia Presente, Jardín Botánico, Empresarios por la Educación, Corporación Excelencia en la Justicia, Unidad del Conocimiento, and Fundación SURA, which he has assisted since he began working with the Group.   Many entities can proudly state today that they have profited from the vision and contributions of an exemplary citizen who has represented the business sector of Colombia before the IWT, and led diverse public and private-impact initiatives.   Fernando Ojalvo leaves a legacy of humanity, integrity and leadership, which will continue guiding the future of these companies.
