Economist with a Ph.D. and M.A. in Economics from New York University, and an M.A. and undergraduate degree in Economics from Universidad de los Andes. Since 2006, she has built her career at Universidad de los Andes, where she has served as President (Rector) since 2022.

Previously, she held several roles at the institution, including Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor; Director of the Center for Economic Development Studies (CEDE); and Provost (Vice President for Academic Affairs) from 2019 to 2021.
