Commercial Engineer from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez. He began his professional career in 1985 at Citibank, where he held several positions in the financial area. In 1993, he entered Grupo Santander in Chile; in 1997, he was appointed the General Manager of the Pension Funds Manager of Grupo Santander in Chile.

From 2008 to 2010, he was the Corporate Director of Human Resources and later the Manager of Commercial Banking. As of March 2012, he was the Manager of Human Resources and Media of Grupo Santander, a position he held until he began to work at SURA in September 2013 as the CEO of SURA Chile and Uruguay.
